Do we need to qualify to compete?

International teams, provided they are from the Indian Ocean and Asian region, are eligible to compete and do not require to qualify.

Australian teams do need to qualify for the event.  Please refer to the Australian Team Qulaification secion of the Games website for further information on this topic. 

Does a University need to send a team in every sport to be able to compete at the Games?

No - A University can send a team in as many or as few sports as it desires.

What are the other costs we need to consider outside of the registration fees?

  • Airfares
  • Daily lunch 
  • Daily dinner meals
  • Accommodation should you not stay in the village,
  • Extra tourism activities

Who is eligible to compete?

  • In general any student who is a current enrolled student at your university. A full eligibility policy is available under the Games Policy section of this website.
  • Staff and Alumni are not eligible to compete.
  • An athlete is only eligible to compete for one team in one sport at the Indian Rim Asian University Games. Players can not complete cross accreditation in different sports.
