Ultimate

Ultimate is a limited-contact sport played with a flying disc. The object of the game is to score points by passing the disc to a player in the opposing end zone, similar to an end zone in American football or rugby. Players may not run with the disc, and may only move one foot while holding the disc (pivoting).

Ultimate is not currently an Olympic sport, however it is included in the World Games.

Ultimate is known for its "Spirit of the Game", often abbreviated SOTG. Ultimate's self-officiated nature demands a strong spirit of sportsmanship and respect. Gentlemanly behaviour and gracefulness are held high. All ultimate matches (even at elite-level events) are self-officiated. Players are responsible for foul and line calls. Players resolve their own disputes.

This creates a spirit of honesty and respect on the playing field which reflects the IRAUG motto of sport–culture–friendship and therefore makes Ultimate a highly popular sport at the Games.
